Waterville Valley Academy’s P.E.A.K. Program is an exciting program specifically designed to meet the learning needs of middle school students. The P.E.A.K. curriculum is both integrated and standards based, with a focus on projects and activities that are highly engaging to middle school learners. To put it simply, the P.E.A.K. Program is a more fun and engaging way to learn. Students will Pursue and Engage in acquiring Authentic Knowledge and apply that knowledge to better understand real world situations. Through this program students will be better prepared for the rigors of High School and beyond with strong literacy and technology skills. Students will be taught how to learn through inquiry, analysis and application knowledge. Our small class size allows for both small group work, and individualized instruction. Students will be challenged to communicate their understandings in a variety of ways through documentation of data, journal entries, and digital presentations. Students who are enrolled in the P.E.A.K. Program, will enhance their snow sport skills through our nationally recognized programs in alpine ski racing, freestyle skiing and snowboard competition and better prepared to tackle the rigorous academic challenges in the years to come.
(Pursuing) -- Students will Pursue hands-on tasks that will require questioning and analysis of data of the environment around them.
(Engaging) -- Students will be Engaged with real life experiences, which consists of an integrated, inquiry, standards base curricula.
(Authentic) -- Students will have real-life, Authentic, experiences in different ecological environment
(Knowledge) -- Students will acquire Knowledge, an understanding of basic concepts and the connections involved in the processes that happen within the Earth’s systems.
